After Dennis and I having spoken to our drivers Andrew and Raymond they were both totally unaware that pigeons had escaped from the transporter
With 2 birds arriving at a loft in eastriggs a cock and hen and an early bird in Dumfries birds must have gotten out of at least 3 baskets and with nothing being witnessed we had no option other to declare race null and void
Mr Philip Heslop has kindly agreed to travel with our driver Raymond and assist with liberations at Charnock and Lymm for which we are very grateful
Would clubs please ensure when loading baskets that they are sitting flush at front
The lorry was held up at 2 clubs on Saturday evening and then did not arrive at Springfield until 10-15 in total darkness which did not allow everything to be checked over
We ask that these situations are not repeated
