SOLWAY FEDERATION of RACING PIGEON SOCIETIES
NEWSLETTER NOVEMBER 2014
Having been elected President of the Solway Federation at the recent Annual General Meeting I feel all the members of the Federation should be kept informed of the affairs of the Federation and be made aware of any decision made by the Management Committee. To keep all the members informed I intend to follow the example of one of our previous Presidents and publish a “Newsletter” on the Federation web site on a regular bases. The purpose of the newsletter is to enable any member to have access to the affairs of the Federation and I hope will end the need for rumours spreading around the Federation.
For the benefit of those who didn’t attend the Annual General Meeting the decisions taken were: – Club Affiliation Fees Status Quo, Membership Fees Status Quo, Ferrying Rebate Status Quo, Race programme for 2015 to be old birds, Shap, Charnock Richard, Charnock Richard, Lymm, Stafford, Worcester, Cheltenham, Buckingham (with SNFC or whichever race point they decide), Lymm, Bedhampton (with SNFC or with Federation Transporter), Clermont (with SNFC). Young birds, Shap, Shap, Sedbergh, Sedbergh, Charnock Richard, Charnock Richard, Lymm, Stafford (Young Bird Open). The Federation to have Flexible Racing which means racing on a Saturday, Sunday or Monday depending on weather forecasts. There is again to be Young Bird Training with the Federation Transporter in 2015 and arrangements to be as in 2014. The race route has now been set for the next three years.
The Federation race programme will be published on the Federation web site as soon as the dates have been set by the Management Committee.
The position of Relief Driver/Convoyer is a pressing issue that the Committee have to resolve before the 2015 season. There has been interest shown in the position by two Federation members but has yet no letters of application have been received. It is hoped this matter can be resolved at the next Management Committee meeting.
The plan is to hold a Management Committee meeting the second week in January when a good number of outstanding matters can be dealt with by the Committee.
May I take this opportunity to wish all our members a very merry Christmas and a prosperous and successful 2015.
M. H. Goldie
President
